So often, we get into a state of overwhelm … for example it might have been the job you didn’t get, a relationship that didn’t work out, or loved ones getting sick. And usually, it seems to all happen at once! Sound familiar?    So far, in 2014, I have had a lot on my plate – new grandchildren, building a new house, family members passing away, changes in my business, and a cancer scare, just to name a few. It reminds me why I’m here writing these blogs, and…

Planted at the same time, in the same environment, experiencing exactly the same climate, conditions and yet these three pohutukawa trees have grown at different rates, shape, and flower at different times. Only the middle one is flowering. We could be talking about us as individuals couldn’t we or families. Each one of us behaving so differently within our families, schools, businesses and communities. So what is it that produces such a different result even though they have access to the same upbringing, resources, teachings? It could be…

Several of my friends and family members are caring and supporting their parent’s as they reach their time of life where they prepare themselves for “passing over”, and I feel called to share with you my personal experience(writing’s from my journal at the time) in a hope that it will support and provide ongoing support and hope throughout time you spend with them on earth. We are trying to decide on where to live.  Last week we shifted again – third house in a matter of months. A beautiful place on the waterfront with Pohutakawa and Oak trees abound, a small beach with a walking track of approximately 4kms without threat of being bowled by cars. Hubby and I have been walking the track most mornings, and although it feels good to be out there, I found myself reluctant to get up and go.  Getting out of bed of late has been difficult……

Do you have enough?

I have just experienced a day on board a cruise ship confined to my room, Doctor’s and Captain’s orders because I had diarrhea and we have an epidemic on board, they have called it diarrhea, Gastro Intestinal … and now Novo – what ever they are calling it, it is now code red! Bruce (husband of 33 years) and I discussed this recent turn of events having been cleared for release from barracks confinement whilst gratefully breakfasting in the restaurant and noted that: How difficult it was to…

Reflecting on recent events in my life over the last couple of days and realising that change is often forced upon us by a series of events in our lives that we, well specifically I don’t always recognise as having any responsibility for.    It is difficult, isn’t it at times to see and understand that they way we react gives us what we get in life. My perception today changed as I took photos in a garden through windows created by a designer, an engineer, a gardener…

A key element to leading the life you want, is to have a healthy loving respect for self! Generally when we get what we want, we are happy campers! Yes? Yet even when we have a healthy dose of self respect there are times when we unknowingly put constraints on ourselves that really aren’t there, not in any physical sense. When it was first suggested to me that everything I have in my life to date is a direct result of the decisions I have made, it blew…
